.His Holiness
His Holiness the Dalai Lama was in Berlin as the last stop of his visit to Germany this year.
25.000 people came to see & hear him speaking at the "Brandenburger Gate" which is one of Berlins most important symbols.
There was a lot of press folks roaming around but in contrast not a single member of the German Government .. the "Reichstag" (home of the parlament) is only 1minute away from the location.
Says a lot about the people there getting a thousands of Euro every month.
After Cancellor Merkel greeted him on his last visit and the Chinese Government almost freaked out it seems like the "important" people are afraid ...
The friendly security guys checked every single camera body ...
which could need quite some time ...
yeah, gimme me a serious expression ... it's a sin to smile as a security guy
dedicated to mr. cweeks ;)
before the arrival of the Lama .. don't know how long they've waited to "see" him ..
probably wasn't that easy with the press nerds standing in front of the actual audience.

"Gentleman, please start your engines" ... the Grand Prix of FTP'ing
well yeah, plenty of kids ...
and giant soap bubbles...
pure cuteness

there are plenty of more pictures (yeah, even from his holiness )... packed in a 2 minute slideshow.

cheers
philip

Nice shots man. Did you have a press pass or were you allowed in as a student?
He is visiting London, Nottingham and Oxford in the UK this week, but they are all events where you have to buy tickets :( and I don't have a press pass. Interesting comments from Chris about the ftp'ing thing. Pretty soon we'll be beaming images straight to people's brains at this rate! Sometimes I long for the slower pace of film...
Take it easy.

Yes, I've got a press pass and it was fairly easy to get in but as you can see the Lama himself wasn't really what I was looking for to shoot.

I'm sure the safety precautions especially in London will be much harder than in Berlin.
Just give it a try dude !:)

beautiful work, mate! :)

thanks for the dedication.

the whole grand prix of ftp'ing is about to disappear. soon ... most will have mini-pc's with a direct connection to an editor and they'll be selected and moved on the fly...

actually that's already happening...
